A white heron which has become tame is seen in a Taylorville back garden, near Greymouth, on the West Coast, being fed from the kitchen window and entering the house for food, which the household cat tries to take from him. NEW CRUISER. 150 ft. With cruisers Bellona and Royalist berthed side by side at Plymouth, England, crew members transfer belongings to their new ship. Bellona flies a paying-off pennant and Royalist is officially handed over to New Zealand's Prime Minister. WORK OF THE N.Z. SOIL BUREAU. 623 ft.
