Princess Elizabeth visits the New Zealand State House exhibited at the Ideal Homes Exhibition in London. NAPIER, NEWEST CITY. 473 ft. Views of Napier taken about 1920 show hoe little space the town had for expansion, and views of 1931 show it ruined by earthquake and fire. The quake raised the land and drained the swamps, and scenes taken in 1950 from the same viewpoints show the modern city which has risen from the ruins and spread out over the new land.
