On 10 April 1968 the inter-island ferry Wahine sank just inside Wellington Harbour with the loss of 51 lives. Set in the framework of a memorial service for the shipwreck victims, the film evokes(with black and white flashbacks) the day of the storm in all its confusion and destruction. 1974 CARNIVAL COAST
