Sir Edmund Hillary's dramatic dash to the South Pole, and his meeting with Sir Vivian Fuchs, are highlights of the film. Other features are seals, penguins and killer whales, the dredging of the sea-floor, and the work of dog-teams, tractor trains and aircraft.
