An impression of a prosperous province. Around the twin cities of Napier and Hastings a farm-products processing industry has developed. Small fruit and vegetables for canning thrive in the warm climate, as do grapes for wine-making. The basis for the province's prosperity, however, is sheep farming. Seasonal changes in life on the farms give the film a pattern.
