Full Description
BRISBANE - NEW ZEALANDERS ON PARADE. 209 ft. A New Zealand Army detachment joins Australian forces in Brisbane for a review celebrating Queensland's centennial. At Trentham, Police cadets finish their training course and are 'capped' with constables' helmets.
CRAIGIEBURN - HOME ON THE RANGE. 242 ft. On the Craigieburn Range, ski club members have built nine huts and a ski-tow. Every pound of material was carried six miles up the mountainside on the members' backs, and they now have a snug mountain village for their weekend visits.
HOSPITALS - THE OLD AND THE NEW. 339 ft. To keep pace with our increasing population the provision of new hospital space is a national problem. Since the war we have spent 37 million, and still we need more buildings. Newest of these is the magnificent Princess Margaret Hospital at Christchurch, recently opened by the Governor-General, Lord Cobham.
