PARADES OF HOMES. 323 ft. From Invercargill to Auckland six Parades of Homes were held in 1957 and thousands turned out to see the houses and to compare prices.

SEARCH FOR OIL. 350 ft. In Taranaki, N.Z., oil companies are engaged on a 1,000,000 survey. Along a 100-mile line they are sinking bores to chart underground rock layers. When completed, these charts will indicate areas which may be worth deeper drilling for oil.
