PIG IN THE SWIM. 96 ft. Andrew Jones of Napier has an affectionate and unusual pet in Susie, his young wild-type sow, who enjoys a daily swim with Andrew in the surf off Westshore Beach.

Suspect fruit, plants, bulbs and general cargo are fumigated in vacuumised steel chambers. Possible disease organisms are identified by specialists, and research is carried out to make imports safe so that they present no danger to the agriculture and health of New Zealand.
