MEAT LOADER At Bluff Port a number of revolutionary meat loaders have been built. They can load meat in all weathers from the wharf sheds directly into the ships' holds.
NO ROAD TO THE LIGHTHOUSE Once a year members of the Marine and Works Departments service an unmanned lighthouse at Kahurangi Point. Driving down 18 miles of West Coast beach they have to ford rivers and blast away fallen rocks to get around bluffs.
