In the spring this fertile region is abundant with daffodils and spring lambs. In the summer, with its high sunshine hours and many attractions, it is a haven for New Zealand holidaymakers. This film depicts the wide variety of attractions which entice tourists here - from tractor rides along the beach, to inspect a gannet sanctuary, to a leisurely visit to a countryside stud farm where many world famous race horses are bred. Visitors can also tread the 'wine trail' where they are made welcome by the many wine makers in this area, and in autumn watch the colourful grape harvest. KIDS AND OTHER PEOPLE
