To celebrate Auckland's centenary as a city in 1971, the city council and other organisations invited four overseas sculptors to create works to enhance the city's environment; Fred Loopstra(United States), Tom Burrows (Canada), Hiroaki Ueda(Japan) and Helen Escobedo (Mexico). The artists were given a month in which to work; this film is a record of their progress to completion. GONE UP NORTH FOR A WHILE
