Full Description

Papua New Guinea, a diverse country whose people speak over 700 different languages, is considering introducing television. Will such a move necessarily be for the best? The film looks at the use of television in other South Pacific Islands, the Samoas, Tahiti and Hawaii to see what impact the electronic media has had. 'Changing Focus' is New Zealand's contribution to a United Nations series marking the 1980's as Development Decade. Each programme looks at aspects of the relationship between developed and developing nations. An NFU/TVNZ co-production
