Full Description
A film by John McKay from an original story by New Zealand author Maurice Gee. Charles Pitt-Rimmer was a solicitor with important positions in the Hardinge local government, however that was all of twenty years ago. In retirement his life is controlled by his two daughters, Mercy and Barbie. Eventually, Pitt-Rimmer makes his move and escapes. His appearance in pyjamas and bath robe is somewhat conspicuous, yet he is pleased with his assertive adventure. Mercy and Barbie are alerted and set off in hot pursuit. What follows is an amusing and touching drama about old age. 'A Glorious Morning, Comrade' is the story of one irascible old man, battling for his recognition to the end. (A McKay Films Production in association with the New Zealand Film Commission and the National Film Unit.)
